چکیده
Big differences in the incidence and severity of peptic ulcer in various parts of India have been reported by several workers (Somervell and Orr, 1936 ; Dogra, 1940 ; Hadley, 1959 Malhotra, 1964 ; Malhotra et al., 1964). Dogra found there were thirteen times as many cases among the population of Madras as compared with the Punjab. While the ulcer is rare in the arid plains of the Punjab, it is by no means uncommon in its humid hill districts (Wig, 1959). In

Peptic Ulcer in India and Its Aetiology.
SYNOPSIS A study of the incidence of peptic ulcer amongst railway workers in various parts of India has shown that ulcer is more common in wet and humid areas than in the dry and arid regions. This observation is also supported by the ulcer incidence reported in other studies from India, Africa, and the West. Saliva appears to have an important role in the prevention of ulcer, because of its ri...

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) among various bacteria has been associated with the cause of gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. Considering the similarities of histological features between gastric ulcer and ...
متن کاملEvaluation of frequency polymorphism Interleukin 1B gene in patients with peptic ulcer and chronic gastritis
Introduction: Helicobacter pylori is the main cause of chronic inflammation and peptic ulcer. More than half of the world population is afflicted with Helicobacter, while only 20% of people show the clinical symptoms of the disease. Genes encoding the cytokines interleukin (IL)-1B play a key role in the inflammatory responses of gastric mucus. This study aims to analyze polymorphism in the IL-1...
متن کاملEvaluation of Serum Interleukin-18 levels in Helicobacter Pylori-infected Peptic Ulcer Patients and its Association with Bacterial CagA Virulence Factor
Background: Helicobacter pylori infection is one of the most common gastrointestinal infections worldwide. Predominant T-helper 1 (Th1) responses with increased gamma interferon (IFN- γ) levels have been proposed to play an important role in H. pylori-induced peptic ulcer. However, bacterial factors contributing to the initiation of Th1 polarization of H. pylori-specific immune responses have n...
